Good evening, everyone. Heavy snow started falling across southeastern Kentucky this afternoon and will kick it up a notch tonight. This is going to cause some serious travel issues tonight into early Thursday. Snow totals along the Virginia border counties could be enough to cause power issues.<\/p>\n

It’s looking more and more like some of these counties will pick up between 6″ and 10″ of snow. Pike and Letcher seem to be the 2 counties with the best chance of nearing double digits. Any areas picking up more than 6″ of wet snow can have power hits.<\/p>\n

In looking over the storm and how things are unfolding… the back edge of the snow shield may try to edge a bit north and west overnight. Areas along US 23 in eastern Kentucky have a decent shot at getting in on a bit of an increase in the snow tonight. All of this was accounted for in my snowfall forecast from yesterday.<\/p>\n
