Good Friday gang and welcome to the weekend. The heat is pushing into the area as we speak and once it gets into town… it will be in no big hurry to leave. So… get your best VH1 game face on and repeat after me… I LOVE THE 90S!
There is not a whole lot I can say about it all other than it is going to be hot and humid starting today and likely lasting through next week as a heat wave will grip the country from the Rockies to the east coast. It all starts today as temps warm into the low and mid 90s in the west and to near 90 in the east.
Track the heat with real time temps from the good folks at Kentucky Mesonet…
Saturday and Sunday will see the heat really cranking up across the entire area as highs reach the lower and mid 90s for just about the entire region. Throw in an increase in humidity and you can get a “feel like” temp of 100 degrees or better. That will inch some areas closer to the danger category for heat.
Because of all the heat and humidity… There is a shot for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm this weekend. A slightly better chance for some storms will be with us from Sunday into early next week.
Highs for much of next week will likely stay in the low to mid 90s across most of the area. Some of the models have been hitting the heat even harder by the end of the week. The European Model is leading the toasty charge…
Thursday
If we can get through much of the next week without a lot of storms and can dry the ground out some… watch out!! That is a BIG if though with this summer!
Stay cool and take care.
Well, the ground is already dry where I live in Twin Lakes subdivision just north of the Somerset city Limits. I bet I have not had more than an inch to maybe an inch and a half since the flooding rains in early May. I don’t wish heavy rain or flooding to my neighbors to the north who have had a lot more rain. However, I would desperately love to see some rain. If i don’t get some this weekend or early next week. I will be pushing 100 with the ground as dry as it is already.
Which HVAC company do you recommend?
The Fayette Heating and Air guys are going to be working a lot of OT next week! Good luck getting scheduled…they usually stay booked up like crazy in this weather!
That is some kind of heat coming!
Everyone try to stay cool. I hope our air conditions can hold up to it.
Thank you Chris for always being here for us!
I love this weather
I use Air Control. They have always shown up withing 24 hours.
I do not like the mention of heat wave. I haven’t gotten in on any of the rain like others have and my place is REALLY dry.
I’m with you Wendy, DRY and NEED rain!
Unfortunately, the models are starting to consistently take on a look that would spell Hazy Hot and Humid for a LONG time. Looks like the dog days of Summer have finally set in.
sure wish that derecho was threatening us instead of chicago
We haven’t seen much up here either. Things are very, very dry.
Don’t make me angry…
yeah cause i don’t want you down here
They showed up within 24 hrs. He added coolant, said he didn’t find a leak and all is working well. Upon research it seems that it’s difficult to get the “charge” right unless you have A/C type conditions outside. Since the compressor was replaced in late Jan and recharged then, perhaps he didn’t get the charge right and there is no leak. I hope that’s the case because it’s working great!
glad you got it sorted still working on mine
People are already predicting armageddon because it’s somewhat drier of late, lol.
