Here are a couple of maps from the Storm Prediction Center…
Today’s Severe Storms Risk
Beyond today… Thursday looks warm, but dry. Thunderstorms may end up being more of a player for Friday into the weekend than previously thought and this could act to keep temps down just a bit meaning 90 may not happen. One thing is for sure… it is going to be MUGGY!!
I will have updates as needed today so check back. You can also sign up to get rapid updates from me by following me on Twitter @Kentuckyweather . These updates also appear in the top right corner of this blog.
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
Praise God for this rain. We needed a day just like this. We already had 3/4″ of rain before 7:00 this morning in Lawrenceburg. The grass, flowers, trees, and gardens are loving it.
Thanks Chris. Wow, looks like thunderstorms are fired up this morning.
This rain couldn’t have any better timing for my lawn.
got a heavy storm with lots of torrential rain this morning, just as I was going to work! Water was standing and ponding on the roads everywhere! I won’t need a shower tonight…I’ve already had two today! 😉
Lightning and thunder was fierce, too.
thanks, Chris for keeping us updated!
I agree with that MichaelT! Loving this rain. My lawn, along with just about every other lawn in my neighborhood, is drinking this water up!
Is Lex still above average for rainfall? Kinda hard to believe with lawn conditions.
The sun is out in Gtown…adding fuel to the fire.
No severe weather thank goodness we dun need any of that but we did get some heavy heavy rain with a touch of lightening and thunder
Finally got a good soaker on my lawn as well this morning right around 1″ of rain…:)
I got about half an inch of rain here
A boundary of rain is training over Northern Kentucky, leading to Flood Advisories going up over Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. Seems like when it rains, it pours. 🙁
woohoo made it through the day with no severe weather
Hey Michael
I noticed the airport had almost an inch. If your rain gauge hasn’t been stolen, how much did we have in this part of town?
Thanks
