Good Wednesday everyone. This is shaping up to be a rather stormy day for much of the region as rounds of showers and storms make their way from west to east across the state. Some of these could become severe and all the storms will contain torrential rains that can cause some local flash flooding concerns.

Widespread showers and storms will be around to start out the day. While some of these COULD go severe… the main time to watch for the severe threat will be this afternoon and early evening. That will especially be the case if the atmosphere can recover enough from the morning rains. A little bit of sunshine later today would go a long way toward destabilizing the atmosphere. Should that occur… severe storms would likely crank up with damaging winds and large hail.

Beyond today… Thursday looks warm, but dry. Thunderstorms may end up being more of a player for Friday into the weekend than previously thought and this could act to keep temps down just a bit meaning 90 may not happen. One thing is for sure… it is going to be MUGGY!!

I will have updates as needed today so check back. You can also sign up to get rapid updates from me by following me on Twitter @Kentuckyweather . These updates also appear in the top right corner of this blog.
