Good evening gang. The much anticipated cold front is about the blast the bluegrass state this evening into the overnight and it is packing a punch. A line of showers and thunderstorms is along and ahead of this front and some of those may be on the strong side this evening.

Damaging winds will be the main threat along this front as it moves in during the late evening hours. Winds are going to crank with or without thunderstorms with gusts of 30mph possible into Friday.

Friday will see low 60s for highs in the south with mid and upper 50s in the north and east. Showers will increase by later in the day and continue into Friday night. The air is so cold that the highest elevations across far southeastern Kentucky may see some snowflakes into early Saturday. WOW!

Saturday will be blustery with low to mid 50s central and east and low 60s west. Some eastern showers will be possible. That takes us into Saturday night and an increased frost threat with temps low to mid 30s with some high 20s in the cold spots.

Back to the wind and storm threat. We have your setup to track all the action…
