Watch cancelled. Told you. I can’t believe all that rain in the forecast all week…and all we got was a few hundredths of an inch. 🙁
Tim on March 12, 2010 at 8:41 pm
getting a heavy severe thunderstorm in Barbourville, with torential rains, gusty winds, cloud to ground lightning, and window rattling thunder!!!
Jonathan on March 12, 2010 at 8:59 pm
regardless of the watch placement and cancelling, the most severe weather has been south of I-64 today, the threat if any is shifting north now, but for the most part today it has been in south and southeastern
JavaJoe on March 12, 2010 at 9:05 pm
With all due respect WxMan- I find both of your comments on this blog irresponsible for a professional weather person. First, for you to comment that the severe weather will be north of I-64 in the midst of a severe thunderstorm warning for areas south of I-64 is plain nuts.
Secondly, the watch has not been canceled. Areas west of Lexington have been dropped from the watch. However, the watch continues for Lexington and many counties south of I-64.

LOL! You’re disappointed that a severe weather watch was cancelled and we didn’t get pounded by rain?!?
Lisa in Millville on March 12, 2010 at 9:11 pm
As expected, some of us ARE getting pounded by rain and severe weather.
JavaJoe on March 12, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Lisa- I think someone else must be posting under WxMan’s name. He would know better than to state that the watch is canceled when the SPC, LMK and JKL say otherwise.
And he would be able to look at radar and know that the rain is far from over for Madison Co (where he lives if I remember correctly).
