Good Sunday afternoon everyone. Showers and thunderstorms continue to slow work eastward across the western half of the state as our closed upper low slowly moves in. There is the threat for some strong or severe storms across far western Kentucky.
Here is a look at the latest from the Storm Prediction Center…
Isolated thunderstorms will fire up across the rest of the state into early this evening. The main batch of heavy rain and storms out west will then work eastward across central and eastern Kentucky overnight into Monday. Some locally heavy rains will be likely and I can’t rule out a strong storm on the leading edge of the rains.
Much cooler air will then work in here for Monday as the closed low spins nearby. This low looks to hang tough into Tuesday and Wednesday with more of the same.
Our big chilly blast of air will then work in by Friday into the coming weekend. I will talk much more about that with the overnight update. In the meantime… let’s track the action of today…
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and take care.
