Good afternoon… again. I wanted to drop by with an updated map on the latest Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Warning. Both of these have been expanded in recent hours…
I still thing warning should include the counties in the Louisville metro.
Current temperatures
More updates later. Take care.
I mean the Ohio River at Louisville looks to be a literal dividing line between 4-5″ and 2″. It’s going to be that close.
The airport may get 2″….but, I think half of Louisville gets at least 4″.
You probably know how much I’ll get down here in Valley Station, maybe an inch (hoping for more).
Lol….I know. .valley station is obviously part of the heat island.
Mike, isn’t it rather fascinating how the pattern for snow and even rain/ summer storms, happen to set up shoo across NE Louisville? My wife and I talked about this over the summer. We always noticed it during the winter. But, there were times that rain only event thru eastern and NE part of the county.
Any ideas as to why this seems to occur so often? (Snow and rain).
Shoo=shop* oops
Even for SW Jefferson County KY. I know Mike S resides in Valley Station heck you can throw a rock across the river and hit Floyd and Harrison County’s in Indiana from Valley Station. Those two counties in Indiana in the WSW. I’m rather lost on what the NWS reason is for not including Jefferson County.
Chris Bailey: “I still thing warning should include the counties in the Louisville metro.”
So do I, Chris. Most data points to Oldham & Jeff. Co. falling into the WSW criteria.
Just more of the same for the rest of us. Cold rain followed by very cold temps, then warming leading to a cold rain, followed by a cold snap leading to another warming, leading to…well, you get the picture.
BPS
I am praying it snows in mercer.
What about Bullitt county? Will that likely meet WSW criteria?
Once again West Virginia is a near miss. Just like last year, the dreaded wrap around/upslope flurries. Hope you snow lovers in KY do better than us.
My 3 yr old granddaughter learned to cross her fingers today to hope for snow in christian co lol
At this point its looking like a mostly rain event for us but I am concerned as to how bad it will be since all this water is going to freeze with this wild temperature drop.Is everything going to be covered in ice.
I am just not sure what to expect. This rain is already feeling so cold.
