Good afternoon everyone. Our snowy period is well underway now as our arctic low is rolling across the region at this midday hour. Light to moderate bands of snow have broken out along it and a lot of places have picked up an inch or snow already. This snow will continue through the day before tapering off from west to east early this evening. Overall… today’s snowfall will be on the tune of 1″-3″ for many of us. The south will be closer to the low end of the scale as the best moisture is across the northern half of the state.

I did notice the new model runs came in a bit wetter with today’s snow and the ensuing snow showers and squalls. This makes me feel as if the snow map I put out last night is in pretty good shape so I have no changes to that. A general 2″-5″ snowfall for much of the state is in the cards through Saturday Morning with locally higher amounts very possible.
