Good evening, gang. We’re getting ready for a lot of rain to roll back into the bluegrass state over the next several days. The action gets started with cold rain kicking in on Thursday. That will then give way to heavy rain, gusty winds and a brief temp spike from Friday into early Saturday.

I continue to focus on the POTENTIAL for winter weather early next week. The European Model continues to get a better handle of this setup with a big closed low diving in across our region…

Euro 2

That spawns a convoluted setup at the surface with several areas of low pressure fighting amongst themselves…

EuroThat brings a swath of snow and snow showers to much of the region and all the way into parts of the south. The European Ensembles show a similar solution…

Euro 3

That suggests snow from the Tennessee Valley into New England.

Btw… the GFS has NOTHING for any of the areas mentioned above. Throw in the fact the “new” GFS has been shut down for the week and it’s not a good look for those in charge of the American models.

A full update later tonight. Take care.
