Good Thursday everyone. The New York adventure of your friendly weather dude rolls on so my blogging has taken a hit and will do so until the weekend. The big news has been the damaging winds from Wednesday. This was an incredible system with gusts of 50-60mph in many areas. I don’t recall having as many high wind events as we have had over the past 18 months or so… it has been amazing!

The cold air blew in right on cue and snow flurries and snow showers were on and off and a few of those will roll into early today. You can track them here…

Since I have been away from a computer for so long… I only have time to scan over the models and charts to see what is coming down the road for us. Here are some quick thoughts…

1. Cold day today with temps in the 20s for highs. Gusty winds will make it feel colder than that.

2. Friday will start out very cold with low and mid teens with low 30s for afternoon highs.

3.  The weekend system is doing just the opposite of what we thought it would. The trend is for a light precip event late Saturday into Sunday and the models have gone a touch milder meaning a cold light rain or mix.

4. One of the reasons the weekend system has changed is the cold blast ticketed for Tuesday into Wednesday of next week. The big question is will a storm form ahead of this cold push? We shall see.

Ok… that is all I can give you this go around.I will update again as I can later today or tonight. Have a great day and take care.
