Good Sunday evening gang. I wanted to drop by and let you know that it’s looking more and more likely that a burst of light snow and wintry mix will move into Kentucky late tonight and early Monday. This will have the greatest impact on central and northern Kentucky where some travel problems may be noted. This is the same little system we have yapped about for days now.
You can see the streak of snow on radar as it quickly workes eastward…
I took a look at the forecast discussion from Louisville about this system and it was being downplayed big time… even talking about pulling the chance for precip completely. Hmmm… not a good idea!! But… I guess they are still trying to find those mid 40s for highs today. ![]()
Full update later tonight. Take care.

Thanks Chris. Moving pretty quickly, isn’t it? I like seeing that radar in your updates….looking forward to the ext full post! Have a good evening.

Chris….ummm.yea….I was just getting ready to post that LMK thing about them dropping the precip chances for tonight….??! What ARE they THINKING???! (Well, not even an update since around 2pm or so this afternoon….??!)
I was just outside w/ my dogs, and that air is quite cold and MOIST(to ME..?!), so I am just wondering…WHAT will we awaken to in the A.M. here in Bardstown?!
We had a low of 21° this morning, a Hi of 38°…it’s now 33°…
(Tob quite honest, Chris…seriously…?!- I DO watch all the “local” Wx…but when it comes to ACTUAL Wx….?!- I might be a bit “out” of your range, being in Nelson Co.here, but, I still RELY on YOU!:)Absolutly LOVE the Blog, and everyone on it!:)
Hey, Bernie!:)
Remember Me?!;)
Happy to see ya back!:)
Thanks.. I always remember a sweetheart! 🙂
Heres to all of us getting MORE snow then rain this week!! “IF ONLY” the low from the plains heads to the SE then pass up the Appalachians! We can dream I guess!! lol
Thanks.. I always remember a sweetie! Hope your doing good.. 🙂

Yeah, local channels here in Lexington are saying basically nothing is going to happen…….we shall see! Looks like we are going to get something to me 🙂
the 00z nam goes against that thinking big time to take precip chances out, it was the wettest run in a while for this event. areas north of areas west of I-75 to owensboro and Louisville should see a wintry mix, any amount of ice may cause problems. There should a winter weather adv in my view for the Ownesboro to Louisville areas south to Bowling Green and a special weather statement for the lexington area. areas that see all snow could get 1/2 inch.
Thanks.. I always remember a sweetie! Hope your doing good.. 🙂

EVEN NOAA is giving us a 40% chance of wintry mix and the locals are blowing it OFF. not good people have to commute in the morning and school busses run. They need to know what to expect.
Thanks!! I always remember a sweetie! Hope your doing good.. 🙂

THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT LIGHT SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD SOUTH CENTRAL
INDIANA…NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND THE NORTHERN BLUEGRASS REGION
OF KENTUCKY TOWARD MONDAY MORNING. ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY…A MIX
OF SNOW…FREEZING RAIN OR RAIN MAY FALL…WITH JUST RAIN OVER
FAR SOUTHERN KENTUCKY. SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE…MAINLY
ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA AND THOSE NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY COUNTIES
NEAR THE OHIO RIVER.
BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SNOW OR ICE COVERED ROADS ON YOUR WAY
TO WORK OR SCHOOL MONDAY WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND THE FREEZING
MARK.
mix of light snow, ice and rain may be some minor accums overnight.
Any precip reports under the radar returns out to our west yet? Radar looks impressive but just wondering if any of it is falling
I always remember a sweetheart! Hope your doing great! 🙂
IF ONLY the low for the mid-week storm in the plains will head to the southeast and head up the Appalachians, we can dream, right? lol 😀
I’m seeing some reports out of southern illinois with a mixed bag of rain and snow.
Must have just issued this, as it’s not yet on the LMK discussion I have as of yet..??!
Thanks Chris… Most local stations calling for a few flurries. The radar now has the frozen precip showing pink which I presume means a mix. I think I’m just going to wait and look out the window when it starts. THEN I’ll know what to expect! LOL!
My aunt near Tulsa told me last night that they were expecting snow and/or ice around mid-week…?! Now, it’s been my expectations that, usually whenever THEY have wintry Wx…WE here in the OV always have the SAME about a day or two later??!:) Whenever they have a snowstorm, Aunt Stella ALWAYS calls me to warn me about it a day or two ahead of time….??!(It might not always be as BAD by the time it gets HERE, but at least I KNOW about it…??!)
29 here and steady, i dont think temps will bottom out much more with clouds and precip moving in but the radar does look promising.
most mesonet sites on either side of 32, 31 at my house in bowling green. stuff should reach me first. humidity around 70% meaning some of it on radar could be verga.
my humidity is at 77% but the temps will be crucial, the radar in southern ill. is getting some yellow in it. cincinatti at 24 monticello, ky at 33. so the 32 line is going to be out and about for who gets what lol whats new.
The 32* line runs from about Louisville se to Stanford in Lincoln county right now and has been shifting slowly ene.
the higher reflectivity in the radar is likely sleet and is moving ne toward I-65.
Mitch, what is the friday storm looking like? Whats your thoughts on the amount of snow we could get or rain.
26 here in Louisa.
Returns of 22.5dbz entering Owensboro right now. I am watching live cam from there so if anything is reaching surface should know soon.
I’m thinking snow for friday night.
thanks man for replying, ive got allot of intrest in weather. I cant make heads or tails outa them computer models but i love watching a big snow come. Im trying to learn how to read the models but without someone kindly showing you whats what its hard to learn anything lol
