Good Sunday to one and all. Our snow day is now behind us and we are seeing the coldest temps of the young season out there today to start things off. I am tired so I will keep this post short and to the point! That is how you guys like it anyway. haha

Temps are in the teens to start things off this morning and you can track the lows near you courtesy of the fine folks at Kentucky Mesonet…

Morning Lows

Skies will be partly to mostly sunny as highs reach the mid and upper 30s.

A weak system will move through here quickly on Monday and will produce a touch of light wintry precip. It doesn’t look to have a lot of juice, but we will keep an eye on it. Highs will be upper 30s to low 40s.

A big storm will crank up across the plains and ride into the Ohio Valley late Tuesday into Wednesday. This will increase our rain threat late Tuesday and we have a shot at seeing a touch of wintry stuff as it starts out across the north and east. Whatever it is to start… it will go to rain. Temps and wind will increase into early Wednesday as this low passes nearby to our north. Once it goes by… cold air crashes in. Check out the GFS…
Wednesday Morning

Wednesday Evening

I still expect the low going through the Ohio Valley to transfer more energy to a coastal low off the Mid Atlantic or New England coastline. Again… Cat fans going to New York on Wednesday may have some delays because of this storm. Plan on some nasty weather for Wednesday. Yay… I can’t wait to fight a mix to rain and wind in NYC!!!

The overall pattern is loaded with potential as some wicked cold air is on our side of the pole and will combine with an active southern storm track for a lot of fun this month. Jump on the train folks!

Another update coming later today. Take care.
