Good Wednesday evening folks and thanks for blogging. Low pressure is winding up across the Ohio Valley right now and this is bringing windy weather with occasional showers and even some rumbles of thunder. As the low departs… much colder air works in with rain and snow showers around into Thursday.
A few flurries will carry us into Friday with cold temps remaining. This brings us to Saturday and a wave of low pressure moving out of the Gulf up the east coast. This will likely bring light snow into the eastern part of the state. Just how much remains to be seen as we have to see how far west this low tracks. The new runs of the NAM and GFS are similar with the NAM being wetter…
NAM SNOWFALL
GFS SNOWFALL
Let’s see if the westward trend continues to show up on the models over the next few days. I will have another update coming later tonight. Take care.

Thank for the update, Chris. Looking forward to seeing what pearls (or snowflakes) of wisdom you bring us with the next post!
It really does kind of hurt to see all of that snow over Tennessee and Virginia and just miss us to the south and east.
Oh why or why can the usual westward trend not pan out this time!?
so sorry 🙁
Because that would mean that we’d get snow! 😉
0z Nam isn’t trending west..if anything a slight shift to the east

Eric: he is looking at the storm coming next week.
It’s looking more and more likely a winter storm impacts the region with all of the usual customers cold rain, ice and snow. who gets what is any one’s guess. the 12z euro has snow, the 00z gfs has to rain to snow.
Sure hope you’re right Eric!!
More than 5 days away.
From all the great informational sources I have researched (This blog for the last few years) I will say next week will be 35 with moderate rain changing to snow in the overnight with little or no accumalation.
What are your thoughts WXman?
So True Neil…Sad but so true…
The front must have just come through Versailles. The wind is howling old man winter’s tune!
I’m not giving up on snow this winter just yet…but we’ve certainly not started off on the right foot. Oh well…I’d rather have a bigger snow later in the winter anyhow, to be honest.
Yes! I agree! Like I said before, those huge snowy winters never got started until Jan. Anyway, I recall talking about this last year and one lady commented on dec 77 (I think) maybe 76, anyway, she said it was REALLY warm New Years Eve and they hadn’t had much of a winter at all up to that point. We know what happened after that.
Chris, I’m sure since I’ve commented now will come your new post. LOL happens every time.
