Good Thursday everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! The weather changes we have been harping on for sometime now are in the process of taking place. The process is just beginning and it is one that is likely to take us into a very wintry early season pattern as we head into December.

Let us start with today as we will see some of those changes beginning. Colder air will filter in through the day with a mostly cloudy sky and a small shower threat early. A weak system dives in later this evening into early Friday with rain showers that change to snow showers and flurries. You can track the precip here…

A coating of snow is possible in the highest elevations as we start our busy shopping day Friday. Highs today will be in the 40s with thermometers struggling to reach 40 for Friday.

The weekend looks good with a quick temp recovery. Low 50s look good for both days under partly sunny skies.

Next week will see a couple of storms make a run at us. The first one will come out Monday into Tuesday and should bring rain that can end as some snow. Here is the GFS for all this…

Monday Afternoon

You can see a lot of energy hanging back waiting to eject out of the southwest by the middle and end of next week…

Wednesday Evening

Thursday Morning

It will make for some very fun tracking over the next several days. It won’t end with all that as the pattern through December looks great for cold and snow lovers across much of the country.

Happy Thanksgiving and take care.
