Good Thursday everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! The weather changes we have been harping on for sometime now are in the process of taking place. The process is just beginning and it is one that is likely to take us into a very wintry early season pattern as we head into December.
Let us start with today as we will see some of those changes beginning. Colder air will filter in through the day with a mostly cloudy sky and a small shower threat early. A weak system dives in later this evening into early Friday with rain showers that change to snow showers and flurries. You can track the precip here…
A coating of snow is possible in the highest elevations as we start our busy shopping day Friday. Highs today will be in the 40s with thermometers struggling to reach 40 for Friday.
The weekend looks good with a quick temp recovery. Low 50s look good for both days under partly sunny skies.
Next week will see a couple of storms make a run at us. The first one will come out Monday into Tuesday and should bring rain that can end as some snow. Here is the GFS for all this…
Monday Afternoon

You can see a lot of energy hanging back waiting to eject out of the southwest by the middle and end of next week…
Wednesday Evening
Thursday Morning

It will make for some very fun tracking over the next several days. It won’t end with all that as the pattern through December looks great for cold and snow lovers across much of the country.
Happy Thanksgiving and take care.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope that you have a wonderful day. Looks like winter lovers are in for a treat. I can always tell when snow is in the forecast by the increase of comments. There are more winter lovers around than we realize. Everyone have a safe holiday!!!
I mostly lurk the site, but Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING BLOGGERS!!!…
Hey gang, Joe Bastardi had an interesting write up in his article yesterday, he has tweeked his winter forecast some…he is saying ohio and tn. vallies will be -4 to-6 below average for the month of Dec. with Significantly above normal snowfall for the south and east…Hmmmm… I guess we’ll see. and he said it would relax towards the end of dec. and the first half of Jan. then come on strong again
GFS is sticking to that double-barrel low setup moving up the east coast next week. Seems a little strange. I don’t think it’s going to play out that way.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Hey Blogging family! Wishing you all a Happy Turkey Day! Enjoy being with friends and loved ones! 🙂 COME ON SNOW!!!!!!!!!!
Happy thanksgiving folks. I’m not optimistic about either of those storms producing accumlating snow, the first one it’s to warm and the second one the cold doesn’t come into it quickly enough.
Happy thanksgiving everyone! Doesn’t look like it will be too cold, but just enough to get everyone in the spirit of the season, right?!
happy thanksgiving everyone. it may not snow a foot today but there i still have alot to be thankful for family…health…job…lol i live where there is a chance for snow lol
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope y’all gobble til ya wobble! =)
gusty gusty wind at my place atm
And that’s been a familiar story around here the past few winters. I’m not encouraged by the fact that the cold keeps getting pushed further back every day. I know this sounds negative, but comparisons to 1977-78 are way too premature.
Good holiday discussion from MJ there really putting him to work this week. I have to agree that the phasing solution is unlikely but the 12z euro gives us the best shot, this phasing solution could give the region a period of snow late Wednesday or Thursday at the end of the storm if it were to verify like the 12z euro has. After that second low Wednesday the next shot for snow would be around the 8th but then waa may make any system rain across the region but the 12z GFS limited waa and kept enough cold in the region to make things intresting.

00z gfs has showers monday then another shot of rain wednesday. Though the potential for some wet snow late wednesday night as precip is ending appears to be better on this run.

I watch about 90% of all UK games here….
Great site is TRUE live feed…
GO STEELERS..!
n vill… just cold
I’m one of the few who saw no flakes just misty stuff that wanted to turn to flakes.
The Canadian came to close to phasing the southern storm with the next push of cold air Wednesday night.
Both the GFS and Canadian runs have a storm on the 7th in the region, right now could be rain or snow in my view depending on how long the blast of cold coming in later next week stays around to fight against the likely prospect of WAA.
Thanks I’ll try that.
