Good Friday everyone and welcome the 13th day of the month of November. Yes, this is Friday the 13th so if you are into that kind of thing… you may just want to stay in bed all day! The weather out there today should balance out any negative forces this “unlucky” day may bring.

As a matter of fact… the weekend looks pretty darn good too. It is once past the weekend that changes to the weather pattern begin showing up. Here is how the forecast shakes out…

– Temps today will warm to near 60 under partly sunny skies.

– The weekend looks awesome… especially Saturday. Temps will warm well into the mid and upper 60s in most areas for Saturday.

– Sunday will see a weak cold front dropping southeastward into the region. This will knock temps down a bit as clouds increase. We may also see a shower threat late Sunday into early Monday and the NAM is picking up on this…

Monday Morning

Our cutoff area of low pressure will be developing in the southern plains Monday and will slowly meander northeast toward the Great Lakes. The European Model seems to have the best handle on how this system evolves…

That would bring showers and much cooler air in here for the middle and end of next week. The chill will come from the pure dynamics of this upper level low as the TRUE cold air is still locked up in northern Canada. As we have blogged about… signs continue to show up that this cold air will finally begin to move southward into the US Thanksgiving week. The GFS continues to be on the cold train…

Thanksgiving Day

As with anything… we shall see!

Have a great Friday the 13th and take care.
