Good afternoon gang and Happy Halloween once again. Our day in weather has gone pretty much as planned with rains moving out of eastern Kentucky and the temps have been exactly how we thought. They dropped into the 40s then recovered toward the low 50s as the rains moved out and will now drop into the mid to upper 40s for Trick or Treating this evening.

I wanted to show u guys some model eye candy for the 2nd week of November. The GFS has been showing a big push of arctic air coming into the eastern US for a few runs now. Here is what the latest run looks like for November 10th…

Take a look at the ensuing temps and surface plot for the following day…

Brrrrrr!

Again… I want to point out how the models, especially the GFS, had been showing a coast to coast warm pattern over the next few weeks. That is something I have harped on as not being likely because the pattern we have been in since last winter has yet to feature anything that looked like that setup. Low and behold… the models have lost that idea. Ride the pattern persistence until it bucks you folks!

Now I am not suggesting the above models are correct… just that you cannot jump on them when they display a massive pattern flip in the longer range like they have been showing.

Don’t forget to set the clocks back an hour before going to bed tonight and have a Happy and Safe Halloween.

Take care.
