Good Saturday everyone and Happy Halloween! I will keep this post brief and to the point.

A strong cold front is moving quickly through the area early on this Halloween. Widespread rains are along and ahead of the front to go along with gusty winds. The rains will end from west to east today and you can track the stuff out of here… right here…

The rains should be completely gone by late afternoon leaving us with dry conditions for trick or treating and for the game tonight between the Cats and Dogs. Temps will be MUCH colder than what we had Friday. Thermometers will drop into the upper 40s to near 50 just behind the front then rebound a few degrees into the low 50s once the rains end. Temps will then drop quickly this evening with mid and upper 40s likely as the sun sets.

Sunday looks good with lows in the low to mid 30s and highs in the low 50s.

A weak front drops in here Monday night into early Tuesday and may bring a brief shower. Ahead of the front… temps will spike well into the 50s for Monday then be much colder with upper 40s to near 50 for Tuesday. Here is what the GFS shows for Tuesday afternoon…

It is a seasonably chilly pattern taking us through the rest of the week toward the weekend. It is by this time the models are all showing a decent amplification of the jet stream across the country. They disagree with the timing and placement of all this… but all of them are showing this. So much for the zonal coast to coast warm pattern some have alluded to! Here is the GFS for next Sunday morning…

Again.. don’t take it to heart as I am only showing this to prove the models are showing cold coming into the states.

I will have another update at some point later today. Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour before going to bed tonight. Have a Happy Halloween and take care.
