Good Friday evening everyone! Wow… what a day here in Kentucky. Temps surged to 80 in many areas ahead of a strong cold front. Now the winds take their turn to go to the max as gusts of 40mph+ will be likely across most spots this evening as the front blows through.

Track the winds here…

A line of rain is moving east ahead of this front and will be moving into central and eastern Kentucky overnight. Watch the progress of the rains here…

The rains will be out of here pretty quickly on Saturday and by afternoon… most are seeing dry weather. Winds will be very gusty once again as temps crash from where they are now. We will head into the 40s by morning behind the front then balance out the temp force by early afternoon with upper 40s and low 50s. Temps will then drop into the mid and upper 40s for Trick or Treaters Saturday evening and for Kickoff out at Commonwealth Stadium.

Next week will see a couple of systems rolling our way with the first Monday night and Tuesday with another toward the end of the week. Some models have been suggesting this could be a bigger player in tapping some deeper cold around here. Both the GFS and European have had runs over the past 24 hours showing this. The Canadian Model has been showing this most aggressively.

Full update coming up later tonight. Take care.
