Good Thursday to one and all and welcome to the day before the weekend starts. The title of the blog is a little misleading because I really do not have any big news for you. But it was catchy so I ran with it. ![]()
Wednesday worked out pretty much as planned with rain and a few boomers rolling across the region. Many areas of central Kentucky were getting a touch dry and they got a good soaking with many areas picking up more than an inch of rain. Not too shabby! Temps also spent yet another day well below normal with lower 70s being tops for the day in a lot of areas.
Some more isolated shower or storms will be POSSIBLE today… but not very likely. Most areas should stay on the dry side under a partly sunny sky. Highs will struggle to get to 80 once again. Whatever stuff we see out there… you will see right here…
Here is your 5 day forecast…
Let me be the first to say that I am not comfortable with the high temps I have as the summer pattern suggests the lower the better. I would imagine I am lower than anyone else… but I may not be low enough on a day or two there. We shall see.
Let’s break it down…
1. The isolated stuff out there today has been talked about.
2. Friday might end up being one of those days I am too warm as we may actually get in on some more clouds and some isolated thunderstorms. Regardless… it will be another below normal day.
3. Saturday’s temps will be all about when the front arrives on the scene. The later it is… the higher the temps will be and we have a shot at mid to upper 80s for the first time in forever. It will be an increasingly windy day with a line of late day showers and thunderstorms.
4. Some showers and storms will be around into Sunday with temps in the upper 70s to low 80s.
5. The pattern next week continues to take on the look of a VERY wet one around here and for a lot of people. The overall pattern setting up is a classic for increased humidity and a whole lot of rain and storms in a southwest to northeast corridor. We will fine tune where that area sets up as we get closer. Keep an eye on that.
That about does it for me today. Have a great Thursday and take care.

Thanks for updating Chris! Sure was nice to see you back on the air for a short while around here!
What do you think this weather pattern is suggesting for us, an early fall, and colder winter, or just normal? It seems like this whole year has been abnormal in the weather department, so why should things be any different for the rest of it?
Ah well, at least for you runners, it makes it a little ore comfortable, I guess. Anyway, enjoy the day, and hopefully, we can see a little sunshine out there before the day is over! 😀
Drat, I missed the weather chat last night. I was bushed from my trip to TN, I guess. I went to bed very early. I’ll catch it next time.
i missed it to. we should schedule the chats further in advance then if they have to be canceled so be it. great to see TG in the chat archives!!
for those winter fans out there 02-03 is sticking out as an analog year at this point to me. the lastest daily cfs run through the winter showed a lot of fun times ahead, of course it will change a lot every few days.
Mitch I agree I miss it also….
