Good Wednesday everyone and welcome to a rather wet and cool day across the state. Given the summer pattern we have been seeing… that does not exactly qualify as breaking news. ![]()
I want to start off with a big thank you to all of you who emailed or called WKYT with such nice comments about my return for a few days. Thanks for the nice comments here on the blog on facebook, twitter and with the comments on the articles at kentucky.com. Though you should play nice when talking about my former co workers!
It means a lot to me that so many people like the job I do. I wish my return had bee under a different circumstance. I told TG that I knew he missed me but he really shouldn’t go to the extreme of being hospitalized to get me back for a few. Hahaha. He is doing much better and may be back to work Friday is all goes as planned.
Let’s talk some weather instead of weather dudes. ![]()
Low pressure is rolling northeastward across the region today and this is bringing showers and some thunderstorms to us. Locally heavy rains will be possible and I cannot rule out a strong storm either. You can follow the rains here…
Temps today will be on the cool side with most areas struggling into the low to mid 70s for highs yet again. There is a shot that some spots do not crack 70 for a high temp today! We will have to watch the record low highs one more time.
Thursday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with a stray shower and it is looking more and more like temps stay in the 70s. I know… I know. This is getting to the point of being crazy!
Friday should see temps make a run at 80 with a little more in the way of sun with still a shot at a stray storm.
Saturday features temps in the low and mid 80s in what should be the warmest day of the week. I say should because at this rate anything is possible. haha A cold front dives toward us late Saturday into early Sunday with a better threat for showers and storms.
I will have another update later today and I may even throw a live chat together later this evening if I can so make sure you check back for that.
Have a great day and take care.

Well, at least I got back from Tennessee in time to see you do the weather at WKYT on your last day. Shoot, Chris, I was so hoping you’d be staying permanently. I know, I know…
We knew it was temporary, but a girl can hope can’t she? 🙂 JK
Wow, it looks like someone is getting rain already to our west. I’ve enjoyed these cooler days. It was just about perfect for me. 🙂
Good morning everyone. Glad to see the green and yellow on the radar this morning, we need a good, soaking rain here. Tomatoes may not ripen but the pumpkins are having a great year and would like a drink.
I am so accustomed to KY’s Julys being hot, humid and mostly dry that when Chris writes that we will “make a run at 80” I feel as if I have the wrong month showing on the calander. We finished the hay last night so we are ready for this rain.
Havn’t posted in a while…Since I’m still in The Bahamas running a mission camp, I’ve been more focused on tropical weather than Ky weather, but I check every once in a while.
Last week, it was scorchingly hot here. This week, nice and pleasant. Maybe it has to do with the tropical wave over us, but its been nice.
Was also nice to see MJ on the blog yesterday. Anyway, hope all is well in KY, and I’ll be home on Monday, barring any tropical disturbances.
Peace
So good to see you back at WKYT, Chris.
Anyone know how to find Chris’ facebook page? I didn’t know he was on facebook!
Anyone else hear the tornado sirens go off at 3:57 in Georgetown?
