Good Monday everyone. Here is hoping each of you had a wonderful weekend here in the good old Bluegrass State of Kentucky! The weather could have been better… but we have to play the weather hand we are dealt. We are heading into a new week, but you would never know it by looking at the weather pattern.

Basically… what we have been seeing over the past several weeks is going to continue this week and likely for the remainder of July. We have been hinting at a return of some cooler weather at some point toward the middle of the month and the models are all coming around to another cool air outbreak for later this week into the weekend and probably next week. Pretty amazing!

As the new week dawns… a couple of WIDELY scattered showers and storms will be on the move across extreme southern parts of the state. Those should move away leaving most of the region with a good looking Monday. You can track the any shower action here…

I have a new addition to the blog that I hope you will like. It is a 5 day forecast graphic that I have been working on and I hope to have this updated each day for you. Here ya go…

Why only a 5 day? Because my graphic making skills will only take me so far. If anyone can put together a nice 7 day base map for me… get cracking and send it to me. But for now… you will have to stick with a 5 day. haha

Let’s break it down day by day…

Today looks good with temps in the lower 80s in many areas. As always… a few areas may check in with a middle 80 under a partly sunny sky.

Tuesday will feature more of the same with temps in the low to mid 80s. There could be a stray storm late in the day… especially west.

A strong cold front will sweep into the area on Wednesday and will likely bring showers and thunderstorms to much of the region. Temps Wednesday will be all about clouds verses sun. I will stick low to mid 80s on the board now but the timing of the front could change that in either direction.

The storms Wednesday could kick up their heels and the Storm Prediction Center has the northern parts of the state in the risk area for severe weather…

SPC Day 3 0730Z Categorical Outlook

Thursday should be a fairly breezy day and I will keep it dry right now. Temps in the low to mid 80s look good yet again as we await the arrival of the next front and potential wet weather system for Friday. Highs Friday will start to come down as a deep trough digs in across the eastern part of the country.

That trough will bring even cooler air for the weekend into early next week and there may be a few days where temps fail to get out of the 70s again.

The overall pattern next week looks below normal and should become fairly unsettled as well. Basically… more of the same.

A question to ask ourselves… will we make it through the month of July without hitting 90? As always… time will tell.

Have a great Monday and take care.
