Good Wednesday everyone. The Summer doldrums have set in for the blog as the time is upon us when we don’t’ have a whole to track or talk about. Being the weather weenies that we are… we trudge on! ![]()
Actually, we do have a few things to track out there today as a very weak front is washing out across the area. This will be the focal point for a couple of showers or thunderstorms in parts of the state. You can track whatever is out there right here…
The clouds and scattered storm will have an effect on temps. Most of us will see temps in the low to perhaps mid 80s. But the clouds will have something to say about that. Based solely on the air mass… the warmest temps will be noted in the south and west.
Warmer air is going to be fighting in here for Thursday and Friday. It is going to be a struggle to get any real heat around here as the heat ridge to our west will get pushed back southwest before it can fully heat us up. Temps Thursday will hit the mid 80s with upper 80s to around 90 for Friday. That is not exactly what I would call heat in July… but whatever floats your boat. ![]()
I mentioned that the heat gets smacked down before getting in here. The smacker will be a trough digging into the Great Lakes. This will bring a front in here over the weekend with a good shot at showers and thunderstorms later Saturday into Sunday. Temps will come back down during this time as well. Here is the GFS for Sunday morning…
Man that is some cold air in Canada! Unlike the last big cool spell… I do not expect temps to be anywhere near what we saw last week. It is possible to get a day in the 70s, but that would likely come from clouds and rain.
Speaking of clouds and rain. The cold in Canada may try to team up with the heat ridge across the southwest US to put the old squeeze play on us next week. By that I mean we may see a situation play out where we are in the middle of the two and that would be a favorable area for showers and storms.
GFS Tuesday Morning
That will be something to keep an eye on next week.
Again… if you are looking for a prolonged hot period… this is not your summer! ![]()
I will update as needed so be sure to check back. Until then… take care.
Thanks for the update, Chris! I guess we should be glad that thereis ot a lot of severe weather to talk about. And not a lot of heat, either.
So, I ask again, how do you think this affects hurricane season? Does OUR weather have any impact on that at all? Just curious…
Will be watching the radars, and checking in for updates…have a great day, everyone!
Google Ads ? is this gonna be with us from now on ? Just askin
Thanks for the update Chris
so what do you think about our possible 2009-2010 el nino?
My 2 girls and hubby just witnessed the passing of the International Space Station. It was really spectacular. If the clouds had not been in the way, it would have been really a show. It moved very fast.
Hi, comrade! I’m absolutely accede to this way of assumption and everything joined.
