4:30am Update

Line of intense thunderstorms continues to sink southward across the state. Torrential rains will likely lead to some local high water problems as these storms will likely dump a quick inch or two. Watch the streams!  These are also tremendous lightning producers and are giving us a big time light show. Some hail and gusty winds will be likely as well as this line quickly moves through.

We will see some more scattered storms early today before trying to catch a dry period. More storms would then likely fire up later this afternoon and some of those could be strong with more heavy rains.  I will update things  later today. I keep telling myself sleep is overrated!

Take care.

PREVIOUS UPDATE

Good morning everyone. I will keep this brief as severe thunderstorms are moving southward into Kentucky as I type. Severe thunderstorm warnings are being issued with this line as it drops south/southeastward across the area. In addition to damaging winds… torrential rains will likely cause some local flooding problems.

The Poor Storm Prediction center continues to have a bad year as they do not have the areas getting the severe weather in a slight risk as of this blog entry. Here is a look at their latest severe weather map…
