Good Wednesday afternoon everyone. Here we go again! A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for the southern half of central and eastern Kentucky until 8pm. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is now out as well for southeastern Kentucky where flooding continues this afternoon.

Here is a look at the latest watch…

WW0439 WOU

You can follow the warnings here…

WW0439 Warnings

I am sure you have the radar views etched permanently in your brain by now. If not… here they are…

Damaging winds and large hail are likely with today’s storms. We should also see storms develop farther north across the rest of central and eastern Kentucky later on today. These can go severe as well.

The flash flood threat is off the charts with this setup! We have a FULLY saturated ground and a tropical airmass that will produce storms that can drop several inches of rain in a short amount of time. THANKFULLY we finally get a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for southeastern Kentucky. Flooding problems are ongoing in this area. Fleming Neon in Letcher County is flooded with roads impassable as of early this afternoon.

As mentioned in my earlier update… more severe storms are likely Thursday. Then again late Friday into Friday night as a major severe weather outbreak appears to be in the cards.

I will update things as needed and I will use Twitter for some updates too. It is up in the top right hand corner of the blog or you can sign up to get free cell phone updates from me.

Take care.
