Hey gang… I hope you guys are having a great weekend! The weather Saturday was nothing short of AWESOME across the state with beautiful sunny skies to go along with pleasant temps in the upper 70s to near 80 in most areas. Sunday will feature temps that will warm a bit into the middle 80s in most areas.
More on the local weather headlines in a bit as I want to talk about what is going on in other parts of the country. I give you the sultry, steamy details in…
The cool part about Weather Gone Wild is you don’t have to wait up until after midnight to see it being advertised like some of the other “wild” wonders of the world! ![]()
So what do I mean about the wild weather across the US? Well… we have everything from a freak Summer snow in the Dakotas to a freak summer flood in South Beach! Oh yea… there was also this historic live tornado that was on the Weather Channel!
If you missed any of it… never fear… the blog is here! Take a look…
That is actually some amazing stuff there folks! I can’t remember another time when live TV caught the birth of a tornado. It certainly has never happened on such a grand scale if at all. Dr. Greg Forbes gives you a GREAT tutorial on how tornadoes form so listen and learn. ![]()
While on the theme of wild weather… how about a wild weatherman? No… not me. Check out this guy from Charlotte. Yes… this is real…
He actually got fired from that station a few years ago but is now back in Charlotte doing his thing. I actually find the guy very funny. Not sure I would want a severe weather forecast from him… but to each his own!
As far as the thoughts of your wild and friendly weather dude goes…
1. The wet ground is showing itself right now. It kept thermometers down Saturday and will continue to do so today and Monday. Mid to upper 80s should be as warm as it can get. A “normal” ground would produce low 90s.
2. Stormy pattern ready to return next week! Isolated stuff may return by Monday afternoon with rounds of showers and storms really kicking in from Tuesday on.
3. Severe weather and heavy rains will once again be a very real possibility for the middle and end of next week.
4. I am watching for the chance that the pattern TRIES to flip around toward a hotter one by mid June. We shall see.
5. The tropics may get off to an early start in the next few weeks, too.
That’s all I have for you right now… that should be more than enough to keep you busy for a while!
Have a great Sunday and take care.
Morning Chris and all. Thanks for two of the three videos.:) Someone should tell that man about decaf. Sounds as if you have found some summer weather for us after all.
That guy is a little much for me!! Chris do NOT take lessons from that man.
Yesterday was just about as perfect as weather can get!!
Here’s a link to Weather Channels LIVE coverage of the tornado up in Wyoming from Friday. It’s 8 parts long so it is a bit long, but it was absolutely amazing as a meteorologist to see the evolution of this storm. Not to mention the fact it spawned in the middle of no where, and little to no damage was reported.

And check this out! From tornadovideos.net, Reed Timmer and his crew drove into the same tornado on Friday that the weather channel was covering. Warning: There are a few curse words towards the end of the video but actually seeing a tornado hit them head on is incredible.
it actually a sad time seeing the VORTEX2 team about too wrap there adventure up.
it was cool to see them finally after 4 weeks get a tornando in wyoming the other day.
bout time the weather channel went storm chasing, I dont understand why they dont keep it going thru the summer.
Unbelievable weather! Does anyone have any idea what the 19 through the 21st will be like in Ohio? That’s when my 8th grade goes on their class trip, and we’re going to a Red’s game, King’s Island, and the zoo. Anyone who has any knowledge, I would appreciate the information. Thanks!
Based on my 30 years in NE Ohio, it could be anywhere from 35 degrees with snow to bone dry and 105 for that period. At least I was able to narrow it down to a 70 degree range.
The longer term trend forecasts look hot for that week.
Weather will probably be similar to weather here
Had to laugh when I read this, David. At least it is in a 70 degree range.
Andy, as long as it isn’t one of our rainy spells, that would be okay.
Thanks to both of you for responding.
Who will win the Champions League??
