Good Tuesday gang and thanks for blogging with us. We are seeing some true summer temps out there today across the state, but it simply will not last! More showers and storms are on the way over the next few days. The overall wet theme to the weather looks to roll on through June.

If you ready my summer forecast from Monday… you know that I feel this is likely to be a common thing for Summer 09!

Regardless… it will get hot today as temps soar to around 90 in most areas. Humidity levels will be up as well and I could even see an isolated afternoon or evening shower or storm going up. It is once into Wednesday that the storms will really begin to fire up…

NAM Wednesday Evening

The setup for Wednesday is one that should feature some strong or severe storms developing so we will have to be on guard for that. Heavy rain will be another threat with some areas picking up 1″+ totals.

As a cold front works into the region from the northwest… low pressure will be forming along it to our southwest into Thursday. This is likely to keep, at least, scattered showers and storms around…

Their is a chance this low is a little stronger and farther north than the models suggest. This would mean better coverage of the showers and storms and heavier rains for Thursday. Either way… some leftover stuff will try to hang into Friday before we clear it out. Thursday and Friday will be cooler with temps in the 70s for highs. Temps on Friday may actually be cooler than that as we get into a brief shot of cooler air!

The weekend will start cool and turn warm as temps soar back into the 80s. We may flirt with 90 by early next week again as a surge of heat heads northward into the region ahead of our next front. That front will likely cut the heat off at the pass once again as we head back into a stormy patter. Sound familiar?

If you think the pattern is all of a sudden going to break toward hot and dry… think again. The summer forecast showed the seasonal models that are wet and cooler than normal for the summer and fall. Looks like the latest GFS rain forecast for the next two weeks agrees…

That pretty much says it all!

Have a great day and take care.
