Good Thursday everyone. All eyes are on the unofficial kickoff to Summer that is the Memorial Day holiday weekend that is just about here. It’s a busy travel weekend and one that features a ton of outdoor ceremonies, cookouts and parades so the forecast takes on a little more importance than normal.

We have had one heck of a nice weather streak since Sunday. Wednesday was nothing short of wonderful with temps in the lower 80s under a blue sky filled with sunshine. We are going to keep the warm temps and sunshine out there today with highs going a few degrees warmer into the middle 80s. You will notice a touch more humidity creeping into the weather picture as well.

That humidity will be surging northward from the Gulf of Mexico where a storm is going to do it’s best to become tropical in the coming days. It is going to get downright muggy around here by Friday and that will last through the weekend into early next week. The tropical feel to the air will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms and the first chance will come in later Friday. The NAM shows this possibility…

These will be the afternoon and evening type stuff that will go up with a lot of areas staying dry into late in the weekend or early next week.

It is once we get into the start of the new week we will be seeing a greater risk of showers and storms that may produce some heavy rains. This happens as whatever forms in the gulf rolls northward into the Ohio Valley. You can see that very well on the European model…

That will be something for us to watch in the coming days and that is indeed what the blog will be doing!

Go out and enjoy another awesome weather day… that’s an order from your friendly weather dude! hahaha. Take care.
