Good Friday everyone! What a Friday and weekend this is going to be as some true Summer air is moving in and it is looking more and more like it is going to stay around for a while!
There is good and bad to all this. The good is… well… the weather. The bad is that is makes for some hard times for the blog as I really don’t have a whole lot to say in times like these. But… I will be showing you some Summer forecast maps from the models and talk about my thoughts on the months ahead.
As far as the weather for the short term is concerned… it’s hot by April standards. Highs today through Monday will be running in the low to middle 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies. There is the smallest chance for a pop up thunderstorm across the highest elevations.
Next week will see temps continue to run on the warm side but we are likely to see an increased chance for thunderstorms.
In honor of the summer weather we are getting right now… I give you this classic from the 90s…
Have a great Friday and I will update the heat over the weekend. Take care.
Hey, thanks for the nice weather outlook- and for the video:)
Does this presage another hot dry spring? Will such a short spell of hot weather do in my peas?
We just got out of dogwood winter…when does it look like blackberry winter might happen?
See, weather is NEVER uneventful. Put another way, farmers can complain about the weather no matter the weather…
I know most of the bloggers blog during bad winter weather. My wedding season is upon me as a wedding coordinator and that is when I really begin to watch the blog. You turn me into a real genius because I can determine how to proceed with weather and brides. Thank you for this service. It is such a valuable tool for me.
Summer-time = slow time for the blog, but its still the daily newspaper for us weather lovers… SO thanks for all the updates and hard work.. now lets get out there and enjoy the SUMMERTIME,SUMMERTIME,SUM,SUM,SUMMERTIME,SUMMERTIME FUN !!!!!!!
Kind of a bad time for the NASTY FLU BUG TO HIT THE HOME FRONT…:( all this nice weather and everyone at my house has the dropsy’s…lol..
I agree i don’t know if i have the flu or Allergies haven’t decided.
One of the best videos ever, thanks Chris for resurrecting that one! It’s 70 and it’s only 9:00!
Morning to all and thanks for the weather update, Chris! Not complaining about the weather. but I am curious as to whether anyone else got the t-showers we got last evening? didn’t last long, but there was thunder and lightning, and, of course, rain.
Today looks really good, too, except for high clouds.
Chris, you can always talk about the weather, and those of us who enjoy whatever it brings will be here to talk about it with you! Have a good one everyone, enjoy the weather and the temps!
Yes, at about 17:00 or so yesterday, we had thunder in Lawrenceburg.
Also, satellite is showing some more scattered showers/thundershowers trying to get going right now! LMK might have to update the forecast soon.
This is the time of the year on the blog I love. I’m don’t post all the time, but this is the time of year that when I do post, I’m more likely to get a response….why? Cause no one is here? At least not posting anyway.
Chris, any chance of your summer forcast also including a forcast for the Tropics? I’ll be doing my mission work in The Bahamas again this summer in late July, and am always trying to stay on top of the weather so I can make decisions on the mission teams.
Had like 3 drops of rain but there were birds flying overhead so that could have been something else
Here’s some folklore that I just heard today. I was looking at some vegetable plants this morning and the guy who runs the place told me to be wary because the old saying is, “Thunder in February, frost in May.” He said we had thunder in late February, which to him indicates a frost in late May. Has anybody heard that one and what do you think??
Where are you located?
Will there, can there be, convection thunderstorms today? What has to be in place to fire up storms without a front coming in?
sunny, windy, and HOT!!..86* on my porch…thank goodness for the breeze today…lol..
most definitely a breeze outside little gusty at times but not bad
I think I’m going to have to turn the AC on. I have all the windows open but its so warm in this house. I am sooo spoiled with AC.
Tropical forecast will be included! 🙂
91* here in belfry.
Teacher Nate, I am here, always, even if I don’t post much during the summer…I love warm weather, too.
It’s just that snow has always been fascinating for me.
CB, thanks for the updates. Looking forward to hearing about the first part of June, and the last.
Hello to everyone, have a great weekend!
Wow that was some serious heat that developed today. Summer in April is nice 😛
Looks like it hit 90 at NWS in Jackson. Very impressive. Wish I could have been down that way to bask in the heat but we had some clouds up here in Northern KY to keep temperatures down in just the lower 80’s!
