Good Thursday to one and all and thanks for dropping by the blog to see what we have to say about the weather. We are FINALLY breaking out of our cool weather pattern and I have only one thing to say about the upcoming weather…

We are going into one heck of a warm period for this time of year. This is a big time weather pattern flip that we are seeing right before our eyes and this was alluded to right here a few weeks ago. The 80s start on Friday and carry us into early next week. Today won’t be a slouch and will actually feature very nice and mild weather. Highs will quickly warm toward 70 in the east and into the 70s for central and western Kentucky. You can track the temps here…

Temps later tonight will be something to watch as we may actually see thermometers rise into the lower 60s by morning after hitting the mid 50s in the wee hours. Friday will see some true summer temps in here with low to mid 80s across the region and we will carry this same forecast through the weekend into early next week. This should be a rather windy time as well as southwesterly winds will crank up.

The weather next week will become more active in terms of thunderstorms so we will have to watch that heading into Derby Weekend.

Have a great Thursday and don’t forget to follow me on twitter if you like. Take care.
