Good Saturday folks. Here is hoping your weekend is going great. The weather out there today into Sunday looks good and with old man winter planning an old fashioned assault on us next week… enjoy every minute of what we have out there now!

After a chilly start to today… sunshine will boost temps into the 60s. Sunday will be a warm and windy day with temps heading toward the 70s. Clouds will increase ahead of a MAJOR pattern change surging in behind a strong cold front that moves in Sunday night. Showers and thunderstorms will increase from west to east during the late afternoon and evening hours and some of the storms may try to become strong.

GFS Sunday Evening

Winds will be very gusty as this system rolls through. Temps behind the front will drop like a rock and be in the 30s when you wake up Monday morning and stay there through the day. Snow showers and squalls will become widespread during this time and those will continue into Tuesday.

Monday Evening

Tuesday Morning

That is one heck of a cold air mass moving in for this time of year. Snow is likely across the entire area and most will see snow on the ground by Tuesday morning. There is a good chance that several areas pick up a decent snowfall out of this… especially in southeastern Kentucky. School delays and cancellations in April? Very Possible!!

In addition to the snow… the threat for a hard freeze is with us Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

If you are looking for spring… keep looking as the pattern looks ugly for a while! Another storm is likely to bring a cold rain to us by the end of next week. Yuck!

Have a great Saturday and enjoy it while you can. Take care.
