An Ugly Looking Sunday!

Good Sunday everyone! Our weather is taking a turn toward ugly out there today as MUCH colder air moves in across Kentucky. The front that blew through last night brought gusty showers and storms to most of the region. The severe weather hit the western half of the state and weekend out as it pushed east.

Let’s talk about the weather out there today. Winds will be gusty with a lot of clouds and showers around. Temps will be just cold enough for a wet snowflake to try to mix in at some point. You can check on the showers on the regional radar…

The temps will be the big story out there today. Highs will be struggling to get out of the low and mid 40s across the region. With gusty winds blowing… it will feel even colder than that.

Yep… that is officially an ugly map for spring lovers!!

The pattern into next week is one that remains very active and is likely to bring some more chilly shots of air and a few more rounds of showers and thunderstorms.

This is not going to be the best of weather for the start of April and the pattern looks active and below normal over the first couple of weeks. But… the data I am looking at suggests when we do finally break out of this pattern… look out. It may get VERY toasty around here for the month of May!

thanks for the update, Chris. Wow! What a difference one night makes! Winds are howling here this morning, and the temp is a chilly 44 degrees with cloudy skies right now.

I am looking forward to getting the cold stuff out of here! The warm days we have had has spoiled me. I am really ready for spring, but is see the radar has snow on it this orning. Oh well, at least it is not a blizzard!

Toasty, huh? does that mean, cold to hot, with o spsring weather? I hope not. 🙁 I love spring. But I like fo rit to warm up gradually, and not go from one extreme to the other so quickly! I guess we will see.

(If the typing on here is really bad, I donot have my glasses on, and I have two dogs gihting at my feet! 😉

temps are forecasted in the 40’s for that time on the nam model so a cold rain wednesday eventhough temps way up there support snow.

SUE…thanks for asking…yes I spent the day yesterday in Lex. and the verdict is that I have to have 2 weeks of intense physical therapy for 2 ruptured discs. and after the 2 wks is up they are gonna re-evaluate the problem to see if any progress was made. and if not not, surgery will be required to remove 2 discs in my lower back…SOOOO!!!…im hoping the therapy will help so no cutting will be required…

We have us a little bit of dogwood winter going on up in the mountains of WV. Dogwood trees are in bloom and it’s going to hit freezing tonight.

I brought my ferns up on the porch and covered them with sheets. Just to be on the safe side.

I don’t know Sharon….with that wind…it will feel a lot colder. May make you ferns get too chilled.

This weather is crazy….yesterday afternoon was nice. Today….The wind….was terrible….we went to church and it flung my car door open. It was terrible and COLD!!! Let’s warm up some shall we?

The porch is pretty protected and the sheets will protect more so….I’m going to gamble. March is always a toss up. I found this wonderful “deal” on these beautiful full large ferns. I knew it was too early but just couldn’t resist. I haven’t planted anything yet though.
