Good Saturday afternoon everyone! Our weekend is in full swing and the weather out there is looking good. The temps have been slow to warm as the chilly air has been tough to kick out.
I will have a full update later tonight so let’s give you the headlines for now…
1. Sunshine and low to mid 50s this afternoon… it’s as simple as that! ![]()
2. A touch more clouds will roll in for Sunday as temps head toward 60 or even a low 60 in the south.
3. Monday and Tuesday should be the warmest days of the bunch with highs well into the 60s with some sunshine and gusty southwesterly winds.
4. A big storm system across the plains early next week is likely to bring a significant severe weather outbreak with it for those folks.
5. That system rolls in here Tuesday night into Wednesday with showers and thunderstorms… some could be strong and this is something for us to watch.
6. The models are advertising a pattern for the end of next week that would put Kentucky in a rich southwesterly flow that could bring a lot of rain and storms to us. Something to watch in the coming days.
7. The cold is not done yet. ![]()
Have a great afternoon and take care.

that might be another type of storm next weekend looking at the model tracks now. as for tue-wed my severe cocnern level isn’t that high as the front will be weaking/ stretching out and the timing isn’t that good. i’m more worried about a fire risk for mon-tue with southerly winds and dry air.
You can have all the rain Mitch they are still cleaning up a land slide from Monday morning after all the rain we had
all of our region over .5 below and lexington has only had 30% of normal rain with 2 in deficit for the month.
thats why i’m giving it to you 😉
Hey Andy, where ya been hadn’t seen you on here in a few days, or did I just miss your posts? I hope all has been well with you, weren’t you sick or something a while back?
thanks for the update, Chris. I hope your Saturday has been a good one! I went to a ‘chocolate’ party this afternoon. Boy, was it good! I really enjoyed it, but it didn’t do much for my diet! 😉
Mitch, we have had an abundance of rain down here…..all winter. I know you guys have ahd less, but I hope you get the bulk of whatever comes on just the next trip. We can use a couple more drying out days. There is still a lot of moisture standing around here. How do I know? Because Fishing Creek has water in it, and has not had since work started on Wolfe Creek Dam. That tells me that we are a bit ahead on rain.
Chris, what is the weather looking like over in charleston, WV for Wednesday, and Thursday? The hubby is making a business trip over that way, and I would like to make sure he has the right clothes with him! Thanks!
Well, watching Western and Gonzaga, so, check in later. GO ‘TOPPERS!!!!!
