Good Thursday everyone and thanks a bunch for stopping by the blog. The weather out there for the next few days will have a much different feel than the past few as colder air is moving in. The good news is that it won’t be sticking around very long and that means the weekend looks fine and dandy right now.
The front will have a band of showers and maybe a thundershower with it early today. You can track the showers with the radar…
The rains won’t last very long at all today and will likely be out of the area by early this afternoon. Some clearing will be possible by this time as well so most of us should see some sunshine. Temps today will be up, down then up again. We will start out with near 50… fall into the 40s then rise back into the 50s during the afternoon. Make sense? Me either! ![]()
Follow the temp ride here…
Winds will be rather gusty today as the front moves through. The real shot of chill will be moving in later tonight into Friday with most areas going below freezing to start Friday with temps only reaching the middle and upper 40s during the afternoon.
The weekend looks good with temps warming through the 50s to near 60 Saturday then into the 60s for Sunday. Those 60s will likely stick around into the first half of next week, at least. A 70 or two could be lurking during this time on a strong southwesterly wind flow that may also bring a stray shower early in the week. The pattern may be a big time severe weather producer across the plains next week and we will see if any of that stuff may try to come our way by the end of the week.
Overall… this is not too bad my friends! Have a great Thursday and take care.

I must be the only 1 up and I don’t know why I’m up.
BILLY G is gone, just thought i remind u all anmd dont foreget who told u weeks ago.
now there people coming out of woodwork, and yes Ricky P may indeed be coming home agai. we will see on that.
Rolo, had I not heard the same thing, I would be inclined to disagree, considering how Rick P has consistently said he would not be coming back to UK. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the off season.
Mesonet stations are picking up less than .25″ of rain with this. I got about that at my house. So we are still under 1″ for the month around here! Geez what a dry March!
You may be under an 1″ for march, but while everyone else got 4-6″ of snow last week I got over 1.5″ of rain with high water, then another 3/4″ the next day…So it may be dry at your house but that is the LAST THING it is down here…my garden still has standing water in it..

………………….
I say come on Ricky P.!!!!!!!
I agree with Tim 1000%
Good morning just got back from Paintsville where it was raining.
Tim I wish you well with your back surgery and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
The same with your family coffeelady.
Rolo what is the song today leaving on a jet plane lol??
Rolo,
I don’t know where you got your info from, but it sounds good to me!
Yeah it’s somewhat regional. From Louisville to Frankfort to Lexington and east of there…dry as a bone. I guess the extreme southern counties have gotten the precip. this month.
Morning all. Chris, it is cloudy here, but I think the rain split as it came through here. So far, I have not seen a drop. Wind is blowing, though.
Wxman, looks like the dome is in full mode here this morning. But as Tim said, we still need a day or two to dry out!
Thanks, Crystal. I appreciate it. And as far as Ricky P coming back…..I would have to see it to believe it. Don’t think that will happen. JMO, but that would be a BIG surprise!
Later. Working at both dealerships today.
I wish you the best of luck Tim. I had L4-L5 fusion in 2003. I hope your surgery turns out better than mine. Prayers are sent your way, keep us updated how things are.
GO WKU beat Illinois!
I agree with you CoffeeLady…with L’ville being a #1 seed, I find it hard to believe that he would leave a successful program to come and rescue another…unless he just likes doing that sort of thing, he’s done it before.
sunshine here in G-town…kinda chilly for me…but looks nice out there.
Thanks Catfish John.. I appreciate that!..mine is in the L5 area as well..DO you still have alot of problems?..
Thanks Crystal!!..
dealership????…car? or what?…lol..after the big wreck last week, we are looking for a new van, or suv. now … I think I’d rather take a beating as to have to deal with these crooked dealerships and salespersons…anyone got any good thoughts on any local dealers??
I don’t see it happening…He won’t make the same mistake twice.
Ricky P. has publicly said more than once that leaving UK was the worst decision he ever made. Also, a credible radio source made it known recently that Rick would consider UK again if that job opens up soon. I would not be shocked if it happened.
Absolutely. #16 in all-time wins, #3 in conference titles, #5 in 20-win seasons…on and on. They are one of the great storied programs right up there with UK, Kansas, UNC, etc. WKU all the way!
Several reports are now coming out that Billy is gone…
I’m not saying it’s true, just hearing it from several people today…
If this is true, then it is a BIG mistake, IMO…
I do not like Billy G myself, but my God, he deserves more time to right the ship…
Stay tuned..
Tim-just catching up with the blog, and saw about your bak surgery. I honestly do hope you’ve gotten several opinions on this, as most everyone knows that back surgery is THE MOST unecesarry surgery in the world to have done if it can be helped. I’ve been thru the whole back thing w/ my hubby the past 2 yrs..he rounded the produce aisle in Save A Lot (4 days after being in the hospital for hernia surgery for a week)and slipped on nectarines or little apples or some such crap?!- Anyways, he messed up his lower discs(one was out about 45°!) and he’s had everything BUT surgery on it, despite what a couple of his doc’s recommended…make a long story short,he got a couple epidurals and went to pain mgmt., which he is now weaning off of (I think they encourage painkillers, which he doesn’t like)and he’s doing really good. Now we are in a lawsuit because SAL’s ins. carrier is a big joke…his Medicare (he’s on Disability)had to basically pay for nearly the whole $65,000+ in med bills, etc he incurred, which it wasn’t their responsibility, of course…talk about a MESS! Anyways..back to YOU..just please see if there’s any available alternative care you can try before the surgery-everyone I know that’s had it said they were actually feeling BETTER BEFORE the surgery, and wish they’d not had it done. But either way it goes for you, I wish you well!!:)
Yep, I still have lots of problems with mine along with the rest of my back & neck. Mine was pretty bad when they went in and fused it. A lot of pain is coming from all the scar tissue there now. No more surgeries unless absolutely necessary! Hopefully yours will be better than mine!
Not a drop of rain today at my house and even now its in the mid 50s
The scuttlebutt around Lextown is that he hits every bar on Harrodsburg Road on his way home and has been tossed out of one or two … he needs time to right his own ship, for sure!
Tim I’m so sorry that you have to go though this surgery you. You will be fine we will pray for you…….
Well, If ROLO says Billy G is gone… then that only means Billy G is here to stay.
Is this like the 2-1 odds you were giving that the Cats would make the NCAA tourney?
the famous 12-5# seed matchup WKU in my bracket wins this one. I’m pulling for the hilltoppers
we stole a good one here especially down in southern ky where i was earlier today.
Afternoon all. Hope your day has been good. We are sitting at 61 degrees here at my house, and the sun is shining. Did not see one drop of rain, and it turned out to be a beautiful day.
Went outside every chance I got.
Tim, about your surgery….my brother had back surgery about three years ago. It took a little while to heal, but he has been doing very well. They used bone from his hip, and one side didn’t heal properly, so they have to go in and do a little repair work.
It was supposed to be next week, but, since he has other health probs, his Dr ordered other tests, and so now, he goes next week to find out when his heart surgery is….the back will have to wait. But, if you have a Dr. that you trust, and his opinion is to go ahead, I think I would do it. My brother has rheumatoid arthritis, and that is why he had problems.
As for the dealership, yes, I work for a Hyundai dealership here in Somerset. But the same gentleman owns the Chevrolet dealership. His receptionist is off sick, so I am going up every day for a few hours and helping out before I come back to the service department.
Right now, you can get pretty good deals everywhere, due to the economy. I know that we have some great rebates right now at Hyundai. If you want some info, shoot me your email, and I will send you some. 😀
Tim, what brand of a vehicle are you looking for? I can recommend a couple of good ones. And some pretty good prices, financing, and rebates, too.
vinny, I agree. I am not convinced that he is a good fit for UK, but I think he needs the opportunity to see if he can pull it off. If he goes now, it had better be because it was HIS choice, and not the university’s.
I just have to say, I love my Hyundai! I got an elantra back in September. Usually 32 miles per gallon!
coffeelady…a quest,or town and country…we’ve looked at several all over the state, and tn..getting about tired of it..lol…
what can ya help me with??
the wife likes the quest, and the aspen …

Tim, whatever you decide, I’m praying that it all goes well.
T-O-P-S TOPS TOPS TOPS! Looking good right now for the Hilltoppers. I hope they can keep it up and I am looking forward to a couple of days of tranquil weather.
Yea!!!! Go Hilltoppers!!
WKU has done it two years in a row now. Congrats to WKU! Illinois was a good measure of their strength. Let’s hope they can make bigger headlines than this.
Nice to see!
I know that I was ribbed before being a WKU fan and calling out UK and only making the statement that there is more teams in this state besides UK…Not everyone grows up in this state to wear blue, I grew up wearing WKU red…Go Big Red…..But look who is going to be the only team to advance besides UofL…WKU never gets any credit and last time we played UK we know the result…GO Hilltoppers..Beat Gonzaga!!
WKU Number one in this state!!
Boy, what an interesting pairing. I really like Gonzaga, because I’ve followed this team from their inception into the tourney with Mark Few (is he still the coach?) and recognized the potential this team had, and they are a great team indeed. I’d really love to see them win an NCAA tourney once in my life, but at the same time I’d like to see WKU go far as well….
This one will be bittersweet for me either way.
Shoot, I’d take Few as a coach anyday as well, because I think he’s a good coach. But what are the chances he’d come here?
I think he could do a lot for our program.
I think that to get the credit loans from banks you ought to present a good motivation. Nevertheless, once I’ve got a bank loan, because I wanted to buy a bike.
Good minimalistic design. I like it))) My eyes is rest!
Will there be a doomsday in 2012?
Good! All would be well written:)
