Good Sunday to one and all. It has been one heck of a weather weekend across the state. Highs were well into the 70s on Saturday to go along with some sunshine and gusty winds. This taste of spring is just what the doctor ordered for a lot of folks… myself included!

With the warm and windy conditions also comes the chance for some strong or severe storms this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the area under a slight risk for severe storms. Here is the latest from the SPC…

SPC Products Overview

We will be watching for a broken line of storms developing to our west that will come racing eastward. Damaging winds and large hail will be possible and there is just enough shear that an isolated tornado may be possible. The best chance for severe weather will be across central and western Kentucky. A slightly higher risk will be farther northwest into Indiana and Illinois.

Here is the radar for you to track the storms…

The blog will keep an eye on the storms and will update as needed through the day and will go to live blogging if we have t so be sure to check back with us.

On another note… how about those Morehead State Eagles!!!!!! OVC champs and heading to the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1984!! At least I will have a team to cheer for in the tourney this year since it looks like the Cats are NIT bound. We won’t dwell on the negative… let’s stay positive and say GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!

Take care.
