Good Tuesday evening everyone. The bluegrass state and many surrounding states got a little jolt today as a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Virginia. We had some minor damage reports out of far eastern Kentucky. Here is a look at the epicenter of the quake…
The quake hit at 1:51 this afternoon. So far, there have been no reports of major damage or serious injuries. It was kinda cool and unsettling to feel the ground rumbling beneath my feet today from something other than thunder. ![]()
Did someone say thunder? A band of showers and storms has been racing southeastward across Indiana today and is holding together pretty well. This may impact parts of the state and you can track this action here…

Heard Bastardi coming home from the office. He says Irene skirts the OBX, then straight north into Long Island, then on to Narragansset Bay in Rhode Island, as a major. In terms of storm surge, that might make us forget Katrina. And he called Katrina on the nose on Thursday night (Katrina hit on Monday a.m.) Scary.
