Good Sunday and welcome to November. Halloween is in our rear view mirror and it’s full steam ahead into the 11th month of the year. Winter is just around the corner and the blog will soon begin to ramp up the winter talk, with the winter forecast coming your way in just a few weeks. Are you ready? 🙂

In the near term, the same active pattern that was with us for the last week of October looks to be hanging on into early November.

The showers we have to start our Sunday will push away leaving us with a nice afternoon with temps in the 60s. Enjoy.

An area of low pressure developing to our southwest rolls to the northeast on Monday, but the models disagree on where it goes. The NAM has been consistently showing a healthy slug of moisture into central and eastern Kentucky from tonight through Monday night…

NAM 2

The GFS barely brushes southeastern Kentucky with some rain during the same time. Odds favor, at least, some showers across central and , especially, eastern Kentucky.

Temps turn much milder into next week, but thermometers may be tempered a bit by low-level moisture hanging around. While I do think some 70s show up, any day with clouds would mean no dice on 70 degrees. The NAM is showing some clouds for Tuesday with temps failing to reach 70…

NAM 3

I can still see this setup producing a scattered shower Wednesday or Thursday.

Another system rolls into the region later Friday and that one could spawn some gusty showers and thunderstorms…

GFS

The models show a pretty strong area of high pressure coming in behind that front. Some decent cold is showing up across the plains as that front first moves through early next weekend…

That seasonal chill then settles in here…

The setup remains active through the middle of the month and I’m still focusing on a decent signal for late in week two. I know I said I would talk more about that with this update, but I’m too tired to wait up for all the models. 🙂 At least, I’m honest!

I will touch on that with another update later today.

Happy November 1 and take care.
