Good Friday everyone and welcome to the last day of the week and the kickoff to the weekend. The weather across the region has been nothing short or awesome over the past few days. That will come to an end this weekend as showers and thunderstorms increase as a vigorous system drops in from the northwest.

Our Friday will start off on a rather cool note as many areas dip into the mid and upper 50s for lows. A warmer breeze will blow later today and combine with ample sunshine to boost our temps into the low and mid 80s for many.

High clouds will increase later today into the evening hours as a storm system dives into the Ohio Valley from the northwest. This low will track across our region by Saturday evening and will then turn the corner up the east coast on Sunday. We will have some nice juice in place as this bad boy comes rolling through here. There is the threat for some strong or severe thunderstorms Saturday into Saturday night.

These storms may also put down torrential rains as they blow through.

This should be a rather windy system as cooler air quickly moves in behind the front. Wraparound showers look likely for many on Sunday as temps will likely hang in the low and mid 70s across the eastern half of the state as the west hits the low 80s.

A leftover shower may hang in early Monday before clearing takes over. This should be another very nice temperature day as highs hang in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Temps will moderate back into the mid and upper 80s by the middle of the week. This is when we will have to watch for another front to approach from the northwest as another cool push tries to dip into the eastern half of the country.

It is also the time the tropics may become a topic of conversation about the overall pattern across North America. Several of the models are trying to sniff out a system that could impact the east coast about a week from now. There are two candidates for development out in the eastern Atlantic…
