Good Tuesday everyone. The winds of change are blowing across the state today as the overall weather pattern across the country undergoes a MAJOR change. This change started a few days ago and will kick into high gear over the next few days. If you are sick of the heat… this is exactly what the weather doctor (or dude) ordered! ![]()
A cold front will work across the region later today with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. You will see many dry hours today as winds begin to kick up a bit along the front. Follow any storm action here…
We could have a nice range in temps today as areas with more sun warm well into the 80s. A bit more cloud cover and any storm action will mean low 80s.
We will head into Wednesday with a very pleasant brand of air moving into town. Highs will range from the upper 70s to low 80s for most areas with a mix of sun and clouds. Add a degree or two across the far south and west. ![]()
Thursday will see a wave of low pressure working eastward along a stalled out front across the Tennessee Valley. This will throw more in the way of clouds our way and may bring some showers or isolated storms into western and southern parts of the state. Temps will continue to run on the pleasant side.
Low to mid 80s will be likely for Friday ahead of another system diving in from the northwest for the weekend. This setup looks nothing like one out of the middle of August and has more of a cold season appearance. Showers and storms should become common around here for Saturday.

Low pressure will develop across the mid atlantic states Sunday and this should keep light rain and showers going.

GFS Sunday Evening
This has all the makings of a damp and increasingly cool weekend for our region into much of the eastern half of the country.
The weather into early next week will improve as skies clear out with normal to below normal temps going strong.
Looking for a return of the hot pattern? Keep looking because I just don’t see it for the next few weeks. A hot day or two maybe, but NOTHING like what we have seen in recent weeks.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
