Good Friday, everyone. The final weekend of February is upon us and it’s looking like a winner across our part of the world. Milder air is ready to push into the region as our roller coaster ride goes uphill. What goes up must come down… Then go back up… Then come back down… You get the idea. 🙂
Highs today will be in the upper 30s east with low 40s in the west. Snow flurries will wind down with a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon.
Saturday finds temps in the middle 50s across the west and pushing 50 in the east. This is when a strong southwesterly wind kicks in and boosts temps into the 60s for Sunday…
Wind gusts Sunday into Sunday night may reach 40mph across much of the state. That’s ahead of a cold front moving in for Monday. This front doesn’t have a ton of juice to work with, but should touch off scattered showers. Temps will also take a dip.
That system can’t amplify very much because of the stronger system screaming in behind it for later Tuesday and Wednesday. The GFS indicates we will be dealing with another potent system, capable of producing thunderstorms and wraparound snows…
I will have another update later today. Make it a great Friday and take care.
Hot, cold, whatever. I just wish it would go a small stretch with no rain. Would be nice to see a little sunchine without 40 mph winds with rain following quickly behind.
Looks like our mega snow anniversary will not be a repeat. Switch from shovel to mower now. Real soon.
Would be nice to have warm without gale force winds. Either way, bring on the sunshine.
Social Media is starting to come to life a little more today with slight hopes of some wintry weather mid/late next week!
I need one more good snow! Just one!
Then spring can flip it’s blowtorch switch.
Don’t take worm, there is a hook under there. They will reel u in and throw you on the bank with NO SNOW to land on
I think he’s right John Austin.
