Good afternoon, everyone. We have a fairly narrow band of accumulating snow setting up show across parts of central and eastern Kentucky. This is falling in an area where temps have been much slower to recover.
A general 1″-3″ with locally higher amounts are possible in this zone…
Temps will slowly climb above freezing within this area, so some melting will take place. Still, it will snow hard enough to cover roads for a time.
Around that zone, an inch or less of snow should fall.
With marginal temperatures across the entire region, amounts can vary over a short distance.
Your March snow trackers will help you through the day…

Enjoy the taste of winter and take care.
Pouring the snow. 2 inches already. Went from nothing to this in very short time.
Things always look so dark and bleak from the Herald Leader…..
Donut hole / dry slot over clay county. Not complaining tho 🙂
I think the forecast was missed this go around the roads are as slick as they have been all winter they are awful here in Morgan co dangerous to say the least
3 inches at least at my place. Poured the snow for a long time. Just let up a few minutes ago.

Given the amount of schools systems caught unaware of this system’s potential (due to it being soooo under estimated), I truly hope everyone get’s home safely and the timing of the above image is just something we can laugh about tomorrow.
At least this year it wasn’t one of the “surprise!” ice events that caused so much trouble for SEKY in recent years.
We already have 4 going on 5 inches in Carter co.
I think WSW a little let we have 7 inches here in Morgan co still pouring the snow
I went to the school and the roads where pretty bad. Had to wait for a while. When returning home my road was so much worse. I crossed the hill and ended up sliding off the road. 4×4 just did not cut it and I was almost home. About a 2 minute walk. So going to have to pull that out tomorrow. Luckily no damage.
Saying that, I have to wonder how roads will be tomorrow morning. It is below freezing out here and the road is very slick. And it is still snowing pretty good.
IN Huntington Wayne area we have 4 inches and still going! Roads are horrible!
All forecasters missed this one seems like
