The longer that corridor of heavy rain producing showers and storms takes to reach us, the warmer things will be. Any areas getting in on full sunshine have an outside shot of reaching 80 degrees by the middle of the week. Again, you will have to have a spotless sky to do it, but it’s a possibility. That axis of showers and thunderstorms slowly works eastward during the second half of the week and into the weekend. This is the time period we will really have to be on guard for the potential for heavy rainfall and strong storms.

This milder than normal pattern carries us into next week. That’s when another thunderstorm maker develops and drifts our way.
