Good Friday, everyone. It’s cold and getting colder, and that means our early season blooms and buds continue to be in a world of hurt. Hard freezes are likely for the next couple of mornings and some of us could even see a snowflake tonight or early Saturday. Will this ever end? Eventually. 🙂

Another front dives in here from the northwest today with a few gusty showers developing. I can’t rule out a rumble of thunder with some small, soft hail possible.Temps are mainly in the 40s, but will feel much colder because of the wind. As evening temps drop through the 30s, a few snowflakes may show up across the central and east.

This leads us into back to back hard freeze mornings across much of the state. Take a look at the numbers showing up for weekend lows…

GFS TEMPS 1

Milder winds will blow by Sunday afternoon and that should boost temps into the 60s. That continues into Monday as we await the arrival of a cold front…

GFS TEMPS 3

Showers and thunderstorms will accompany this cold front into early Tuesday…

Another cold shot comes in behind this and could give us another freeze by Wednesday morning…

GFS TEMPS 2

Once past this point, the pattern begins to flip warmer and could get pretty toasty…

GFS 2

I’m seeing signs, again. This time, those signs are for a very warm period with severe thunderstorm risks for the middle and end of April. Speaking of, all signs point to a very active severe weather month in May.

Enjoy your Friday and take care.
