Good Sunday, everyone. We have had no shortage of wild weather across our region early this spring. ThisĀ is the windiest spring I can remember with 40mph gusts now seeming routine. This weekend featured accumulating snows with thundersnow and thundersleet reported in some areas. Yay spring!

Things are a little crazy out there today with a hard freeze and 20s to start. Winds, clouds and temperatures then really increase this afternoon. Readings should hit the 60s on most thermometers. This is ahead of a wet weather maker tonight through Monday night.

Showers increase from west to east this evening with a few thunderstorms joining the party on Monday. Locally heavy rains are a good bet through Monday night..

GFS

Mild air is in place for much of Monday, but temps will drop quickly from northwest to southeast late in the day with highs on Tuesday struggling to 50-55. Another below freezing morning is a good bet by Wednesday.

From there, temps start to climb as we watch to see what happens with a storm system trying to develop across the southeast…

Those “cutoff” looking systems have a mind of their own, so we will see if it will impact our weather. If not, we could make a run at 70 by next Friday and Saturday as milder air streams in from the plains states. That should hang around into early next week. The GFS Ensembles…

GFS Temps

That same run of the Ensembles then tries to bring another cool shot in later in the week…

GFS Temps 2

While possible, I’m leaning toward a much warmer scenario for the final few weeks of the month. The GEPS are seeing this well…

GFS Temps 3

This is also a pattern that should turn pretty stormy over the next few weeks. The GFS sees this potential…

GFS 2

I leave you with your usual suspects of weather trackers…

Enjoy the day and take care.
