Good Wednesday morning. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for much of central and eastern Kentucky until 5pm. Here is a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings…
Damaging winds and large hail are the main threat from this line of storms as it dives southeastward across the state. Locally heavy rains may also cause some local high water issues.
Track the storms here…
I will have updates as needed and send out quick fire updates via twitter. Take care.

Thanks Chris. That watch should have been issued about 5 hours earlier. We had an impressive storm roll through the Cincinnati area right around rush hour. 🙁
Yesterday marked the 17th consecutive day of 90 degrees or higher temps at CVG, tying a record going back to 1901. Will we break the record this afternoon? Doesn’t look good, as it is only 70 now…
This storm has went on for a LONG time here in northwest Lex. And it’s constant thunder close and far away. Some really close strikes. Extreme rain at the moment
If this was considered an MCS, I think I was in the heart of it.
I walked out of the grocery store in Paris just as the rain started and by the time I got out of the parking lot, the road was completely flooded. I had to pick up one of my dogs and then we sat in the car in front of our gate because I couldn’t get out to open it! The lightning just went on and on…still flashing all around my house. I finally made a dash for the gate but it scared me. The air was crackling. I will check the rain gauge once this has passed. There was just a loud boom of thunder. It sounded like a bomb just exploded. The whole house shook.
Sounds like some big storms going on back home. I’m in Paducah for the week visiting family. It’s already 97 degrees here at 11:30am and heat index is around 110, ugh.
Lost power at the house in Lans-Merrick at 9:50 am. Still out.
My yard missed the rain again!!
I saw a horse today.
