Good Friday everyone. We are setting up the blog for your tracking pleasure as we watch thermometers, scattered thunderstorms and Tropical Storm Don. Before we get to the toys… let’s give you a quick breakdown of some of my latest thoughts.

– The heat just keeps on keeping on. Thursday brought one of the hottest days of the entire summer for many areas. Today should feature temps back into the 90-95 degree range for many… but showers and storms will may have something to say about readings outside your house.

– Those showers and storms will be scattered about the region today… especially this afternoon and evening.

– A much better shot at showers and storms will be with us Saturday into Sunday when we have nice little plume of tropical moisture working in here. This could set the stage for some locally heavy rains and a strong storm or two.

– Temps will come down several degrees over the weekend.

– If you love the heat… don’t worry… it makes a return visit next week.

– The tropics are already off to a fast start as we are already on our fourth named storm and I expect the tropical wave train to really crank up over the next few weeks.

– Tropical Storm Don is expected to come ashore along the Texas coastline later this evening or tonight. This has a shot at reaching hurricane strength before doing so.

Don gets the leading role in our daily dose of tracking toys…
