Good Tuesday everyone as we get set to welcome back the 90s. I am professing my hatred for the 90s and I’m not talking about the decade that gave us boy bands and Barney. Though, that’s reason enough to hate on the 90s. I’m talking about the temps version of the 90s.

We will see readings heading back toward 90 and beyond over the next few days before thunderstorms come calling for the weekend. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.

Headline time…

– Highs today will hit the upper 80s across the east and low 90s in the west as mostly sunny skies return.

– Everyone should hit the 90s for Wednesday and Thursday as we see the plains heat ridge expand eastward into the Ohio Valley.

– The heat over the next few days will be of a drier version than what we have seen in recent weeks. Humidity levels won’t be as high… but a heat index of 100 or a smidge better. That stinks… but is an improvement and that’s saying something.

– Showers and thunderstorms will begin to crank up on Friday and carry us into the weekend. Some strong or severe storms and torrential rains will be a good bet.

– I have been hinting at some cooler times for August and August starts next week. The heat looks as if it will continue to be a force to be reckoned with into the first few days of the month, at least.

After a day off… it’s time to bring the temp tracking toys back. And away we go…
