Good Monday folks and welcome to the last week of July. Last week of July?? Wow… the summer of 2011 is flying by and that means we will start to focus more and more on the fall and winter ahead of us.
We can use some talk of cooler air as the hot and humid weather of the past few weeks just doesn’t want to go away.
Let’s give you the famed breakdown with the weather headlines…
– Scattered showers and storms will blow up again today into this evening. Some of these will be strong or severe with a high wind threat. Torrential rains will be likely with the storms with local flash flooding issues possible again.
– The best chance for storms today be across the eastern half of the state and across our southern counties.
– High temps will range from the low and mid 80s east to 90 west.
– Tuesday into Wednesday will feature the hot temps fighting back in as readings head toward 90 in the east and low and mid 90s west. Throw in the humidity levels and you may feel like it’s 100 or better at times. Yawn!
– This will not have the strength of our latest heat wave as a nice weakness in the atmosphere develops across our region by the end of the week. That will allow for showers and thunderstorms to crank up and cause the heat to split to our east and west. You can see that here on the European Model…

I have a special treat for you guys today. Are you sitting down? No temp tracking maps for the first time in a long time.
The radars will have to pick up the slack…
