Good Wednesday everyone and welcome to the C & C Music Factory edition of the blog. The 90s group had a big song called “Gonna Make You Sweat” and that’s the tune mother nature is singing today as we have a scorcher out there.

The heat should reach its peak today before a SLOW drop the rest of the week into the weekend as we begin to ramp up the chances for showers and thunderstorms. This is likely to be the beginning of an overall pattern change that should take us into a cooler and MUCH wetter middle and later part of the month.

Temps today will likely soar into the low and middle 90s for many areas with western Kentucky seeing some high 90s. Check out the numbers from the GFS…

Track today’s temps here…

Current Temps

Factor in the humidity levels and a lot of the region will see a heat index temp around 100 degrees. Slow down and take it easy and drink plenty of water if you have to be outside for an extended period of time today.

Readings for Thursday will be back in the low 90s with a gradual decline into the mid and upper 80s for the weekend. As the temps decline… the showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase and we could get some big boomers during the weekend.

This will be the beginning of a much wetter pattern that is likely to turn fairly stormy for our region into the middle and end of June. The long range models continue to point toward this wetter pattern across the Ohio Valley over the next few weeks…

We are still keeping an eye on the disturbance in the Caribbean as many of the models take it across Cuba to near Florida by the end of the week. Some try to develop it into the first Tropical Storm of the season. Here is the disturbed area…

I will have updates as needed so check back. Before we leave you… let’s make ya sweat…
