Good afternoon everyone. A cluster of strong and severe thunderstorms is rotating in from an unusual direction… the northeast. This likely to impact eastern Kentucky over the next several hours and some of the storms may be severe with damaging winds and large hail.
There is no watch out from the SPC with these storms… but we have had dozens of counties under warnings with wind damage being reported. There should be a watch with this!
Follow the storms here…
Updates as needed so check back. Take care.

Wow, this seems out of nowhere.. And why are they moving in that odd direction?
I sure wish some of that would hit the Lexington area.

Ugh, thank you for the heads up, Chris. Strange direction, indeed. :/
Sigh.. if only that was about 100 miles farther west..
Our yards are brown and crunchy already.
Ashland just had marble size hail. here in flatwoods/russell area there are alot of trees and powerlines down. Power outages reported. Had alot of heavy rain high winds some lightening/thunder. thunder is getting louder as i am typing so prob better get the computer turned off. stay safe
Would love to know how fast the lightening and thunder will give way to rain only because we have little league tournaments here in Johnson County….
I’ll wager those little league games won’t be played tonight.
I know. It seems these ridge riders never come this far west….If that’s what these storms are.
Bath County cloudy, windy, some lightening and starting to rain a little.
denied again
Denied in Winchester as well. Did get a really nice breeze but that was it.
my rain guage shows we got 1/2 inch of rain today. deff watered the garden and washed our driveway out some. It put a couple of ruts in it,
Wow, somehow it missed us completely and I thought the same thing. When we left and went to town they were coming right at us but we only heard a couple rumbles of thunder :0
