Good Tuesday to one and all. Mother nature is hitting the fast forward button on our weather pattern and is skipping ahead to late April and early May. The pattern over the next few weeks is going to be a very warm one that will have you in all out spring mode.
With the early round of warm temps, you will likely being seeing some familiar spring fashion:
Flip Flops
Jorts
Whatever this is…
No, those legs do not belong to your friendly weather-dude. 🙂
Highs today will warm well into the low and mid 70s for most areas and then take off from there into Wednesday. The NAM looks toasty…
These warm temps will carry us through the week… into the weekend and into much of next week. Any one day can see readings head toward 80 degrees and flirt with record highs.
The best threat for showers and thunderstorms will be late Thursday into Friday and Saturday. Overall… this is a pattern you would see toward Kentucky Derby weekend than the ides of March.
Get outside and enjoy it… just try to avoid the fashion look of the “this” guy! 😉
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
Only thing scary about that forcast is THOSE LEGS!!!!!!! lol
With the incredible warmth, who needs cumbersome jorts when this might do, at least in appropriate places?! No worries about tan lines 😉
On the other hand, we may later pay for this warmth with either more bad thunderstorms, or a late freeze like the one in April 2007 that hit peach farmers hard in the deep south.
I agree, we will pay for it……the cold isn’t gone for good. It all balances out lol. I just hope we have a nice Easter, that would be good for a change 🙂
I hope it doesn’t get too warm because I refuse to turn on the a.c. in March!!
i was just thinking the same thing! i dont think my heat has been on since friday. i really dont want to have to kick the ac on. this is saving me money!
This is a great forecast…..as long as it doesn’t mean a late season snow or additional tornado outbreaks. Other than that, bring on the jorts!!
I’m facinated with spring storms as my handle suggests, even if we have had enough tornadoes for a year. But as was mentioned elsewhere, we have just entered peak tornado season. I was kindergarten during the 74 tornadoes. Saw the destruction in Jett area of Frankfort and later Richmond. Had fears of mere thunder for the next year or so.
So………….blog followers/weather experts………………are we “done” with winter? Does the long term forecast keep the warm around and the cold at bay?
(Follower not and expert) I am not counting on it. The cold air will filter back in late this month into April. Lets hope it does not get as cold as it did a few years back when we had below freezing temps for about four straight days. Really messed up the spring blooms. Still think there is an outside chance we will see snow around Derby time. Just my thoughts….Have a great day everyone and thanks for the Update CB…..
What are we looking at in terms of severe weather season around here this year? I know we’ve seen our fair share of bad weather thus far but where do we go from here in terms of storms?
All this early warmth has me worried what summer will be like.
Lots of bugs.
Lots of clouds in Frankfort is holding temps down so far today.
The wasps are all around my house. That’s one thing I don’t like about warm March days…wasps!
(and flies)
I remember a few years back when the first half of Keeneland was really warm and then it turned super cold for the last half of the meet. The handicapping angles that worked for the warmth were useless in the cold. That’s the confusion of Polytrack.
i have been thinking abt going ahead and insuring my motorcycle but i know this is false weather for now lol :p i gurantee atleast some more cold and snow this month…and of course april is the epitome of cold rains so…i think i will hold out til may this year 🙂
I wonder if those shorts belong to TG. 😉
